The transport industry is one of the few industries not meeting the CO₂ reductions set in the climate goals. As a key player in the fuel sector, FinCo takes responsibility for making its entire portfolio fossil-free, well before the deadline stipulated by the government. One of the main tasks of the FinCo Renewables team is structuring, accelerating, and realizing this transition in the transport industry.

THE TEAM

As Development Manager Renewables, you are a highly valued member of the growing Renewables team. The Renewables team works hard to achieve FinCo's ambition to fulfill its pioneering role in making road transport and shipping in the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland more sustainable. You will become part of our enthusiastic and highly collaborative team. As the company's ambition is to grow significantly, our team is searching for new and equally enthusiastic colleagues. The current team is a good mix of new, young colleagues and a manager who has extensive experience in this specific sector. Together, we determine which options and opportunities match with FinCo’s long-term goals, which are prioritized to create the most effective action plans to add alternative energy carriers to our portfolio.

At the moment, we are working on various projects relating to:

• The sustainable production of hydrogen and alternative hydrogen carriers;
• The increasing use of sustainable fuels in shipping;
• The procurement and application of bio-methanol in (inland) shipping;
• The identification, location, and development of relevant sustainable resources;
• And many more...

YOUR ROLE
As Project Developer Manager Renewable, your main responsibility is the management and realization of various projects that are initiated based on the Renewables team's strategy. So what will you do?

• You define clear and achievable goals for your projects and manage their progress;
• You use your creative ideas and personal vision and input on the (internal and external) sustainability ambition to offer plans for improvement;
• You develop your own ideas and turn them into new Renewables projects;
• You search for and collect the right people – which can be both internally and externally – to create a firm base for the effective realization of our projects;
• You meet with FinCo's customers, suppliers, and network companies to explore their wishes, needs, and challenges regarding sustainability, after which you set out the ideas and plans as to how FinCo can contribute;
• When it comes to sustainability, you are a source of inspiration for your colleagues and other teams within FinCo, and you know how to get them on board to realize your project goals;
• You answer all sorts of sustainability-related questions coming from the organization;
• You are actively in contact with the operational organization to ensure that the integration of new energy carriers goes smoothly.

In short, your role is extensive, versatile and varied, and offers all the scope and freedom you need to add your own input and mark. We enjoy brainstorming with each other and really like to know more about your ideas and how you see the energy transition.


YOUR SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• You have completed academic/applied sciences studies and have work experience in a relevant field;
• You are a team player with relevant expertise and experience in, as well as ideas about, the energy transition;
• You are no stranger to natural sciences, have adequate technical skills and the internal motivation to contribute to the energy transition and make multiple transport sectors more sustainable;
• You have knowledge of and experience in renewable fuels, the circular economy and/or sustainable resources, and accelerating sustainability;
• Your oral and written English language skills are good, other languages are a plus;
• And lastly, you come up with creative solutions, you have an entrepreneurial mindset and great social skills, and you know how to connect people.

The function is not an entry-level job.
