An era of possibilities

In the next few years, we must do everything in our power to reduce CO2 emissions worldwide. We want to be a symbol for the transition that alle energy companies must go through. The course has changed and our sustainable product portfolio is transforming rapidly. We have the people, the resources and the innovate power to make a difference and contribute to a more sustainable world. But we can’t do this alone.

We need the whole chain to move forward. Just like all other parties, we, as a fuel supplier, are part of that chain. If everyone contributes – the business community, the government, people as individuals – we can make a big step forward. By working together, we can and will create a decade of action, an era of possibilities.

Our Manager Renewables Strategy & Development Bart-Willem ten Cate therefore invites other market parties to build new chains together with us and to initiate innovative and circular projects. ‘To get these kind of projects off the ground you have to organise this with the entire chain. From collector to technology provider to an organisation like FinCo, who purchases and distributes the product, to an end customer, such as a fisherman, who is ready and willing to participate. And I believe it is possible.’

A pioneering role with HVO

Rotterdam, 1 September 2022

To reduce CO2 emissions worldwide we are accelerating the use of sustainable energy carriers and phasing out fossil fuels. One the of the greatest fuels we use to reduce CO2 is HVO, a synthetic diesel, which is produced from the residue streams of the food industry or industrial processes. It is also a very sustainable fuel: it reduces CO2 emissions up to 89 percent and ensures clean combustion, both on land and water.

Bio-markets that don't yet exist

Rotterdam, 22 September 2022

The energy system of the future consists of all kinds of innovative solutions. These innovations differ per market segment and mode; road traffic requires different solutions than shipping and air transport. We therefore look at new sustainable feedstocks, as well as ground breaking conversion technologies to convert these feedstocks into various suitable energy carriers. That is why we are not only looking at liquid fuels, but also at hydrogen and electricity.
